Youth Outreach Worker

Deadline – February 14, 2020

Location: CBRM/Victoria County, Nova Scotia

Qualifications: Our Agency is seeking an individual with a minimum of a Bachelor of Social Work degree, who has experience working with children, youth and families in a school setting. This position is a full time contract.

Position Requirements: Reporting to the Director of Professional Services, the Youth Outreach worker provides direct support to youth in the community and will assist in navigating resources, advocating, and working collaboratively with many local resources. Skills required for the position include, but are not limited to compassion, strong engagement skills, and an understanding of trauma informed principles.

Schools Plus Community Outreach Worker

Deadline – February 14, 2020

Position Requirements: Reporting to the Director of Professional Services, the Schools Plus Outreach worker provides direct support to children, youth and families and will assist in navigating children, youth and families to services and resources in the community.  The Community Outreach Worker will work collaboratively with other school and agency staff to ensure that the student and/or family have timely access to services and programs.  Skills required for the position include, but are not limited to strong engagement skills, solution focused work, and an understanding of trauma and violence informed principles. 

Therapeutic Services Position

Deadline – February 14, 2020

Location: Sydney, full-time year term contract.

Pt Hawkesbury, three day a week year term contract

Antigonish & New Glasgow, full-time year term contract

Qualifications: Our Agency is seeking an individuals with a Bachelor of Social Work degree, Master of Social Work degree, or related Master’s degree in Counselling who has experience working with individuals, couples, and families in a therapeutic setting.

Position Requirements: Reporting to the Director of Professional Services and the Therapeutic Services Supervisor, the therapeutic services worker is responsible for delivering therapeutic services to adults, youth, and families.  Skills required for the position include, but are not limited to strong engagement skills, solution focused work, and an understanding of trauma informed principles.

Persons considered for positions with Family Service of Eastern Nova Scotia must have: membership in good standing with their professional regulatory association, a clear police background check, and a clear child abuse registry check.
